Working with Me

Initial Consultation

Before we begin working together, I offer a free 30-minute free telephone conversation. I will ask you to share the issues that you have been struggling with, find out about you and your background. You will have the opportunity to ask me questions relating to the therapy process. You may also want to know a bit more about me. If you are happy to move forward and if I think I can help, we will book the first session, which will be an assessment session.

In this session, we will do an initial assessment, which will be revisited, should you decide to work with me. We will also draw up a clinical contract, that outlines how the therapeutic relationship will work.

Please get in touch if you would like to make an initial consultation.

Person Centred Counselling

As a person-centred counsellor, the focus is on you. You decide what we discuss in each session and the pace we go at; this helps you to feel comfortable as I guide you through the process. I will draw upon a range of different approaches in our sessions together that are tailored to your specific needs and goals. The counselling journey is unique to you. This process can also be done through Walk therapy, this is where we walk side by side exploring our emotional journey.

Please get in contact to find out more about person centred counselling.

Telephone Counselling

If the thought of working face to face with a counsellor makes you feel worried or anxious, telephone counselling may be an option that you feel more comfortable with. Some people feel awkward discussing certain issues, experiences or feelings face to face, so telephone counselling offers a pathway into counselling without the intensity of a face to face session.

You may struggle to find the time to attend a session due to work or family commitments. Telephone counselling is a convenient way for you to fit counselling into your busy life.

Intercultural Therapy

You may be struggling with issues that are directly influenced by your race, religion, beliefs, ethnicity, gender, language and values. Through counselling, you can explore your unique situation and find ways to make positive choices within your intercultural perspective.

Intercultural therapy is a talking therapy that also takes into consideration your ancestral origins as well as cultural and spiritual influences, regardless of where you were born and raised. Why? It is believed that these aspects influence your mental health either way.

In addition, we can address racial trauma and race based stress, with a culturally and spiritually sensitive approach. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about intercultural therapy.
